Coinciding with the eve of the martyrdom of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (AS) and the days commemorating the martyrdom of Muslim ibn Aqil (AS), lovers of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) welcomed the mourning season of the Master of the World's Free Men, Imam Hussein (AS), on the first night of the Muslimiyah ceremonies under the slogan, "Hazrat Muslim, the embodiment of allegiance to leadership."
According to the Department of Public Relations and Islamic Communications of the Holy Shrine, as has been the tradition for the past century, devotees of the Prophet's Household gather in groups during the days marking the مظلومانه martyrdom of Muslim ibn Aqil (AS), the envoy of Imam Hussein (AS), at a shrine which, according to Imam Hadi (AS), carries a spiritual reward equivalent to that of visiting Imam Hussein (AS).
Through this massive gathering, they demonstrate a spirit of resistance and solidarity in the face of the enemies of Islamic Iran and offer their condolences to the Imam of the Age, Imam al-Mahdi (AJ), at the radiant shrine of the envoy of Imam Hadi (AS) in Islamic Iran. The first night's ceremony began with a speech by Hojjat al-Islam Mir Hashem Hosseini and elegies recited by Haj Morteza Taheri.
The program continued with the enthusiastic participation of numerous religious mourning groups, and concluded with a eulogy by Haj Heydar Khamseh, which lent a particularly spiritual atmosphere to the gathering. It is worth noting that the traditional religious observance of Muslimiyah, held annually over three nights, is the largest and oldest mourning ceremony in Iran's capital.
This unparalleled gathering in the Shi'a world reflects the profound devotion and love of both young mourners and veteran servants of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) for the sacred Household of the Prophet.
