The mourning ceremonies marking the first ten days of the month of Muharram will be held at the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Abdol Azim Hassani (AS).
According to the shrine's Department of Public Relations and Islamic Communications, the ceremonies commemorating Muharram—the month of mourning for the Household of the Prophet and the month of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the Master of Martyrs, and his loyal companions—will begin on Monday, June 15, and continue for ten consecutive nights at the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Abdol Azim (AS).
The nightly ceremonies, which will take place after the Maghrib and Isha prayers in the Imam Khomeini Prayer Hall of the holy shrine, will feature speeches by Hojjat al-Islam Mir Hashem Hosseini and elegies recited by Davoud Shakari.
During these days, additional mourning ceremonies commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) will be held after the Dhuhr and Asr prayers in the Imam Khomeini Prayer Hall of the holy shrine. The programs will include speeches by Hojjat al-Islam Hossein Eskandari and elegies recited by Davoud Shafiei and Mohammad Hossein Ataeian.
Throughout the months of Muharram and Safar, special mourning programs dedicated to Imam Hussein (AS) will continue to be held during both daytime and evening hours in the Imam Khomeini Prayer Hall, with the participation of religious scholars and eulogists of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS).
The Cultural and Academic Affairs Department of the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Abdol Azim (AS) has extended its condolences on the anniversary of the tragic martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his faithful companions and warmly welcomes all lovers of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) to participate in these special programs.
